Savannah, GA

These buildings rise several stories past the height of the bluff creating top floor office spaces that were once occupied by cotton brokers. Factors Walk, a series of iron and concrete walkways, was created to connect the upper floors of the row to the rest of the city on the bluff, providing a convenient way for factors to walk to their offices.

While no longer a hub for cotton sales, today the buildings are home to cafes, shops, and restaurants, which still use the walkways and cobblestoned ramps to connect to River and Bay streets. It’s rich history and unique look have made Factors Walk and Factors Row a favorite filming destination for productions. Making recognizable appearances in period films such as Glory, Birth of a Nation, WGN’s Underground (Season 2), and Lizzie, it most recently became the setting for the famous spaghetti scene in Disney’s live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp. Not to be type-cast as a historic location, it’s cobblestoned façade has also been featured in a fight scene in The Do-Over, and a car crash in Killerman. You can see Factors Row and Factors Walk in the upcoming film The Glorias, where it doubles as London.
