In December 2024, the Georgia Film Office updated its Alternative Marketing Options (AMO) menu, offering exciting new opportunities for productions to qualify for the 10% film tax credit uplift. 

In lieu of including the official Georgia promotional logo, productions may choose from several new alternatives, including:

• Filming in rural areas
• Offering internships with Georgia Film Academy students
• Featuring Georgia’s tourism assets and local communities through social media

The AMO program delivers significant value to Georgia by harnessing the film industry’s broad reach to spotlight the state’s tourism assets and rural communities; offer workforce development opportunities; and spread economic impact to locally owned small businesses in rural counties. 

These alternatives are in addition to existing ways to qualify such as featuring a product created by a small Georgia-based business or promoting Georgia’s film industry.

After 8 incredible years with the Savannah Regional Film Commission our outstanding Assistant Director, Katie Schuck has taken a great opportunity as the NEW Film Commissioner for the Dallas Film Commission.

The energy, passion, and knowledge that she’s brought to Savannah’s film and television industry will be truly missed. This office would not be what it is today without her, so thank you for years of dedication not only the film office but to the area that we all love very much. You have been a champion for so many projects and the people behind them, and we’re so very proud of you Katie.

We will be watching and rooting for you and your family on this new adventure, and wishing them all the best in this next chapter of their journey!
