After 8 incredible years with the Savannah Regional Film Commission our outstanding Assistant Director, Katie Schuck has taken a great opportunity as the NEW Film Commissioner for the Dallas Film Commission.

The energy, passion, and knowledge that she’s brought to Savannah’s film and television industry will be truly missed. This office would not be what it is today without her, so thank you for years of dedication not only the film office but to the area that we all love very much. You have been a champion for so many projects and the people behind them, and we’re so very proud of you Katie.

We will be watching and rooting for you and your family on this new adventure, and wishing them all the best in this next chapter of their journey!

The Georgia Film Academy is now offering the GFA 1000 Intro to film and TV production for the Spring 2024 semester on campus at Savannah State University.

This means that students who ONLY want to take the GFA classes for the certification can register directly for this course without having to apply to the college for a degree program. Also, the class is offered on Saturday which is great for those who work full time on a m-f job!
